This workshop is a rerun of the "Vasalisa and her Doll" event carried out in earlier in the year, although the emphasis is now on creating a Legacy Doll for future generations.

In this workshop:

We will call upon the wisdom of this ancient story from Russia to guide us in moments of uncertainty and indecision.

We will make a symbolic doll

We will meditate on the legacy we will leave behind us

As we walk in the shoes of Vasalisa, we will observe how she overcome the tests that Baba Yaga puts in her path, and discuss how we can apply this to our everyday life.

This workshop is experiential, and participants will be invited to explore the story in depth and engage actively in the activities. If possible please have some craft material available to make the symbolic doll.

The story and accompanying exercises could then be used safely with clients of different ages, face to face or online.

Stories have been with us since the very beginning of humanity when we gathered around the fire to listen to myths of creation to connect us with our inner selves, our clan and the universe. Stories have accompanied us through dark times, of war and plague and they are here to accompany us now, with their medicine, in this time of uncertainty.

This course reminded me of the power of process - how choosing items, colours and ways of working, or tuning into physical space and environment, problem-solving or barriers can give us metaphors and illuminate or decode internalised or reveal external issues.
